With 2024 in full swing, we've decided to bring you some of the sporting events that will be the most important this year. So, let's not wait and just get started!
European Football Championship. The European Football Championship will take place in June. We have had a trend recently, which many people did not like, of having the championships in many countries at the same time, but now we are going back to the classic practice and the championships will be held in Germany. As many as 43 million people have applied for tickets for this championship, which just goes to show the enormous popularity of this grand football event.
The Olympics. The Olympic Games will be held in Paris, the French capital, at the end of the summer. As always, there will be plenty of spectators and athletes from all over the world will be trying to prove their worth. The United States delegation is expected to win the most medals, as usual, but the Chinese Olympic team may also surprise.
Three huge tennis tournaments. Tennis fans have a lot to look forward to. This year there will be three more Grand Slam tournaments. Rolland Garros in Paris in May, Wimbledon in London in the summer and the U.S. Grand Slam in New York in September. The Open will take place in New York in September. There's also the Olympic tennis tournament at the aforementioned Olympics, so tennis fans are in for a great year (as they are every year, by the way).
Champions League final. Last year, the UEFA Champions League was won by Manchester City. It remains the overwhelming favourite to defend the title. However, teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Bayern and others have serious intentions. This football championship will therefore, as always, attract a very large number of spectators.
NBA playoffs. Basketball fans are already looking forward to the NBA playoffs, which should start in mid-April. The Denver Nuggets will be the defending champions, but there are plenty of teams that are ready to make a serious run for the trophy.
NHL Championship. Many hockey fans around the world follow the NHL Championship very closely. And the finishing line is slowly approaching, too. Therefore, even though the sport is a little bit of an outlier, hockey fans are very passionate and watch their teams' performances with great eagerness.
